For the first time, making its debut at the 1000 Miglia 2023 event—an occasion steeped in the history of global automotive excellence—will be an autonomous car, a beacon of the future. Participating as a symbol of innovation, this self-driving vehicle marks a significant milestone in automotive evolution. Its presence at the event serves as a testament to the rapid advancements in autonomous technology, highlighting the exciting prospects that lie ahead in the world of transportation.

The team

Leading a highly skilled and diverse team of 12 professionals was both an honor and a remarkable learning experience. Each team member brought a unique set of expertise and perspectives, contributing to the project’s richness and depth.

Managing this team required a delicate balance of delegation and collaboration. By assigning tasks according to individual strengths and fostering an environment of open communication, I ensured that each team member felt valued and empowered. Regular team meetings facilitated idea exchange, progress updates, and issue resolution, nurturing a sense of camaraderie that was essential for project cohesion.

As a Supply Chain Manager, I confronted global supply chain shortages by strategically selecting the most suitable components from the available market options. When needed, I directly engaged with supply chain managers to explore alternatives and secure their support for our project.

I regularly interacted with stakeholders to understand their requests, needs, and expectations. By maintaining open lines of communication, I ensured that their input was integrated into the project’s development process.

As a vital member of the system integration team, my primary responsibility is to formulate a set of meticulously crafted requirements, aligned with the project’s overarching goals.

These requirements serve as the foundation for the subsequent phases of development. I meticulously translate these requirements into a comprehensive architectural draft, delineating the specific components and code essential for the vehicle’s development.

Subsequently, I work to convert this architectural draft into a detailed technical blueprint. This blueprint serves as a crucial guide for the manufacturing department, enabling them to construct the requisite components with precision and accuracy. This seamless progression from requirements to architectural draft to technical blueprint ensures a cohesive and efficient development process, reflective of my commitment to effective collaboration and project realization.

I actively contribute to the vehicle’s construction by immersing myself in the intricate making process of some of its pivotal assembly components. This hands-on approach not only allows me to gain a deeper understanding of the manufacturing intricacies but also empowers me to address challenges head-on. By embracing this role, I am dedicated to ensuring the precision and quality of these critical components, further solidifying my commitment to the project’s success.

Leveraging my extensive knowledge of the overarching system architecture, I hold the responsibility of overseeing the deployment of code onto the vehicle. This crucial role requires me to ensure the seamless integration of the codebase with the intricate network of components. Through meticulous coordination and comprehensive understanding, I guarantee that the code deployment process aligns perfectly with the established architecture, thereby contributing to the vehicle’s optimal performance and functionality.

The regulatory administration governing this specific type of activity mandates specialized training to ensure that drivers responsible for supervising autonomous driving are thoroughly prepared.

Having undergone this essential training, I am now fully qualified to assume the role of a co-driver alongside the artificial intelligence pilot. This training equips me with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively monitor and intervene when needed, fostering a seamless collaboration between human oversight and AI-driven navigation. My commitment to safety and proficiency in this capacity underscores my dedication to the responsible advancement of autonomous driving technology.
